1. Cabinet board
Common boards include solid wood particle board, density fiberboard, solid wood multi-layer board, ecological board, solid wood finger joint board, and solid wood logs. However, commonly used and suitable for custom cabinet bodies include solid wood particle board, solid wood multi-layer board, ecological board, and solid wood finger joint board.
Solid wood particle board (commonly known as particleboard): The advantage of this board is that its performance is relatively stable and affordable, making it the most commonly used board in the current market; Solid wood multi-layer board, ecological board, and solid wood finger joint board belong to higher grade boards (increasing in order), among which the frequency of use of solid wood multi-layer board is only second to that of solid wood particle board, and the use of solid wood finger joint board is relatively small. The main reason is that the price is relatively high, and the stability of the board is relatively poor.
The common thicknesses of cabinet panels are 16mm, 18mm, and 25mm. Among them, 16mm and 18mm are the most commonly used, while 25mm boards are mainly used for furniture such as wardrobes. Customized cabinet bodies are not suitable for use.
Environmental standards: The commonly used standards currently include E2, E1, E0, which represent the amount of formaldehyde released. Solid wood particle board (commonly known as particle board), density fiberboard, and other artificial boards are tested using perforation extraction method. The formaldehyde release of E1 grade products is ≤ 9mg/100g; E2 level products have a formaldehyde release rate of ≤ 30mg/100g, while E0 generally refers to European standards, which means that the formaldehyde release rate is lower than or equal to 5mg/100g. According to national regulations, only boards that meet E1 level standards are allowed to be produced and sold.
2. Door panel
At present, there are various types of door panels on the market, including double decorative panels, fire-resistant panels, painted panels, porcelain veneers, vacuum molded panels, solid wood, metal wire drawing, and crystal steel plates. The main focus is on several common types.
The double decorative panel is melamine board, usually made of solid wood particle board as the substrate, and the surface layer treated by soaking and drying in melamine glue, which is bonded by a special press machine at high temperature and high pressure. It can be made in a variety of colors, but it is also relatively cheap, making it an economical choice and widely used in the custom cabinet industry.
The painted door panel has a gorgeous appearance, bright colors, beautiful and fashionable appearance, and the overall effect is excellent. Baked paint door panels often use density board as the substrate, with melamine veneer on the back. The manufacturing process is complex, the processing cycle is long, and the price is relatively high. The painted door panels need to be painted and sprayed multiple times, and after each spray, they should be heated and dried in the drying room. The temperature in the drying room should be above 80 degrees to ensure that the paint evaporates sufficiently, without irritating odors, and has good hardness.
