1. Keep the wooden door fully open or fully closed when idle
If ventilation is required, the wooden door should be fully open and fastened to the door latch at the back. Otherwise, the wooden door should be closed instead of being left partially open and closed for an extended period of time. Because this semi closed state increases the pressure on the hinges, if the wooden door itself is too heavy, it is easy to cause the door leaf to loosen and the wooden door to deform; At the same time, the wooden door is in a semi closed state. If there is a sudden strong wind blowing in, the wooden door will suddenly close by gravity or directly collide with the wall, causing significant damage to the wooden door.
2. Install a door stopper on the wooden door
In daily opening and closing of wooden doors, if too much force is applied, the door is prone to hitting the wall. If this is done for a long time, it is easy to cause the paint on the back edges of the wooden door to fall off and be damaged. Therefore, I recommend installing a door stopper for wooden doors. On the one hand, the door stopper can cushion the force of the wooden door hitting the wall, which is very good for protecting the wooden door when it is opened. On the other hand, the door stopper can effectively secure the wooden door after it is opened, preventing it from swinging back and forth in the wind, and maintaining indoor silence.
3. For heavier wooden doors, an additional hinge can be added
Generally, wooden doors have two hinges on top, one on top and one on bottom. But if the wooden door is heavy and opens and closes multiple times, it can be considered to add a hinge in the middle of the wooden door to increase its stability.
4. When painting walls, cover wooden doors
If there is a need for decoration in the home, or if there is a lot of dust, cement, or lime, wooden doors need to be covered inside. To prevent paint from touching the surface of the wooden door, it may cause the door surface material to peel off and fade. At the same time, paint or other colored products falling on the wooden door can cause difficulties in cleaning the door.
5. The sliding door needs to keep the pulley smooth
If it is a sliding door, it is important to keep the pulley smooth. The usual practice is to keep the sliding rail groove of the sliding door free of debris. Regularly clean and remove dust, and add lubricating oil to the sliding parts of the pulley to ensure smooth opening and closing of the sliding door without derailment.
